A Snowboarding Subaru?

My business partner for Tri Megatech drives a Subaru STI when he’s not managing or setting up a network. He sent me a video this morning which I thought was worthy of sharing with you guys…they take a Subaru STI out snowboarding…you just have to watch and see:

This should have been an ad for the Super Bowl, I wanted to go out and buy an STI after seeing it. Eric took his STI snowboarding with us last a couple weekends ago, here’s his with the snowboard rack:

Here’s a video I did back in college featuring a buddy’s WRX tearing it up through the snow:

Snowboarding Weekend At 7 Springs

Last weekend I went to 7 Springs resort in PA for a few days of snowboarding with 14 of my friends. Since there were so many of us, we got a 2 bedroom condo, a 4 bedroom townhouse, and a keg to stay at. Here we are on the first day, the resort is huge but you can see the main lodge:

Here I am on the top of one of the mountains, you can see more of the resort at the bottom of the hill:

What’s a snowboarding post without a little action shot?

After each long day of boarding we hit up the bars in the hotel, here’s a few of us at from Saturday night:

This is my third or fourth time to 7 Springs, it’s always a great time and only a few hours drive. Next year I’d like to try snowboarding somewhere on the west coast though, I think I’m too used to icy conditions.

Welcome To 2008

All around the net I’ve seen my favorite bloggers post their happy new years posts, and I thought I’d do the same.

Let The Festivities Begin

For New Years Eve, we headed over to Glen Burnie, MD for a party that our friend Butch was having. When I was back in college in Baltimore I used to live in a duplex type townhome with two best friends. The house attached to ours was what became 3 good friends of ours (One of them, Eric, is now my business partner for Tri Megatech). Almost every Saturday we used to throw dual house keg parties. Butch’s party had a lot of those people that we hadn’t seen in a long time, so it was like a big reunion. The party had about 40-50 people, 3 kegs, food, and a midnight champagne toast.

Here’s a few of the girls from the party:

My buddy Mike and I ran the beer pong table towards the end of the night, never losing a game. Check out the below video, and you’ll see my excitement about that at the end:

What I Want To Change In 2008

There are quite a few things I want to do in 2008:

  • I will eat much better and cook for myself more.
  • I will workout more and get in better shape, especially by this Summer
  • I will clean up my current businesses. By this I mean I will sell/get rid of what I feel I don’t want to continue or spend more time on so I can put more concentration on what I want to grow.
  • I will launch a new site that I’ve been thinking about for about 6 months now
  • I will help grow Tri Megatech by at least 200% of gross revenue from 2007
  • I will generate at least $5,000 in revenue from Carbon Fiber Gear
  • I will launch the new design for this blog

What are your goals, and what will you be doing to accomplish them?

Dining At BLT Steak In Washington DC

On Wednesday night a few of us went to dinner at BLT Steak in Washington DC (About a block or so away from the White House).  I have to say it was definitely one of the better meals I’ve had in my lifetime, and I got a chance to try Kobe steak for the first time.

Here’s the entrance for BLT Steak:

It was a great night and dinner…I think I’m still stuffed a day later.  I highly recommend going to BLT, they have locations in DC, New York City, San Jua, Dallas, White Plains, Los Angeles, and Miami.

Caps Sabres Game In The Luxury Box

Last Friday I had an opportunity to go to the Washington Capitals vs. Buffalo Sabers hockey game at the Verizon Center in Washington DC.  I’m always up for going to a professional sports game, but this one was a bit better because they were tickets for the luxury box!  I went with a few friends, as well as a few people that I didn’t know.

For those that have never been in a luxury box at a professional sports game, it’s a great experience.  You have a great view of the game, the room is usually pretty nice with free food and free drinks, plasmas on the wall, a private bathroom, etc.  Our room had a ton of wings, hot dogs, cookies, cakes, gummy bears, jelly beans, chips, nuts, beer, wine, etc.  Take a look at the pics:

Here is the hallway for the Lexus suite level:

Here’s a random picture of Allie and Bethany.  You’ll notice nobody left in the stadium, the game was over, and we decided to keep drinking for a bit :)

I’ve been to a luxury box game before (At the Baltimore Orioles for a baseball game), and it was a pretty similar experience.  If you’ve ever been in one, how did it compare?

Recap Of The Halloween Festivities

Halloween is one of the greatest party nights of the year! Over the past 6 or so years, we’ve always followed a tradition…going to Fells Point in downtown Baltimore for Halloween night. It’s a street lined up by bars filled with people in the Halloween drinking spirit. Between the bars you’ll find hundreds of people in costume partying it up, it’s an awesome time. This year was no different.

Halloween night isn’t the only time to party, the week was full of various goings out events and friends hosting parties. I figured I’d do a little recap of the festivities.

2 Friday’s Before Halloween

My buddy Will’s kickball team won the championship (my team won too), and the league had a big celebration at SoBe Seafood in Arlington, VA. My business partner for Tri Megatech and I were going to be dick in a box from the SNL skit with Justin Timberlake, but Will and I decided to try out the costume at SoBe first. I have to say we pulled it off pretty good (I’m the guy on the right):

Dick in a box costumes with me and Will

While at the party, two other guys had the same costume, their box opened though and they had candy in it. I think our overall look was better, but the lesson was learned for the ultimate costume for future reference.

Friday Before Halloween

The Friday before Halloween was a small party hosted at a friend’s house down in Baltimore. It was a bunch of close friends, and a few new people, and that always equals a good time. Here’s a few of the girls:

The girls at Ralphy’s party

We’ve got Allie as a sexy Harry Potter, Katie as a sexy police officer, and Kellie as a sexy baseball player…some sort of sexy theme or coincidence?

Wet T-Shirt from Ralphy’s party

Down in the beer pong room we’ve got Allie with Mike who was a wet t-shirt contest winner…always a classic. Cami and Ashley on the right are a sexy Raggedy Ann and a sexy Little Red Riding Hood respectively.

Eric and me Dick in a box costumes

Here’s my business partner Eric as the other half of dick in a box. Notice my new and improved box (Thanks Bethany!)! This time the box was filled with a nice assortment of candies. Erics box is a little weak, but we made sure to improve on that for the Halloween night appearance.

Saturday Before Halloween

The Saturday before Halloween was a mixture of a pimps and ho’s themed party at a co-workers house along with continued partying at Auld Shebeen’s in downtown Fairfax, VA.

Pimps and ho’s party

I decided to mix it up a bit, and be a pimped out Santa Clause rather than your standard pimp. From left to right we can see Will as a high-end pimp, me, Brandon as a dirty priest, Sarah as your standard school girl ho, and Andrew as your classic pimp.

Ryan as a pimp

Here we can see Ryan, the host of the party as a pimp with a sweet diamond surrounded LED belt.

Halloween Night

As I mentioned before, Halloween night was spent at Fells Point in Baltimore, but of course we all pre-gamed before going to the bars! We pre-partied at my friend Chris’s house about 15 minutes away near Baltimore. Here’s a few of us dressed up:

The gang on Halloween night

I brought out the dick in a box costume again, along with Eric. We have Katie and Kellie from the previous party, and the new comers; Brian (in the back, he’s our full-time head tech for Tri Megatech) was Clark Kent, Anthony was a doctor…specializing in mammograms of course, and we’re still trying to figure out what Christine was supposed to be.

Fells point bar on Halloween

Here we are at the bar down in Fells, more specifically, at DuClaw. By the time we got downtown, it was about the only bar we could get into…and it was still packed. We have Alex on the left as a beer (Alex helps me out with retail sales for ActiveTuning), my roommate Jason as Santa, and our old college buddy Evan in the back right.

As you can see, it was a week of a lot of partying and drinking, and I’m still trying to recover! I didn’t include the “Beer Olympics” party that we had last Saturday…but that’s another post of its own.

I know this post is a little delayed for Halloween, but I hope you all had as much fun as I did.

Dining At Chima

Last weekend I went out to dinner at a restaurant by the name of Chima (pronounced she-ma). It’s a Brazilian steakhouse, if you’ve ever had this style before it’s a very unique dining experience. Each person gets a small disc, one side is black, while the other side is orange. There are 12 different meats that are being served by Gauchos (Brazilian cowboys), and as long as your disc is flipped on the orange side they will come to you and offer you meat.

Gaucho serving food at Chima

Here’s a list of the different type of meats they offer (on top of a buffet salad bar):

  • Top sirloin
  • Leg of lamb
  • Filet mignon
  • Parmesan crused pork loin
  • Sirloin
  • Rack of lamb
  • Flank steak
  • Chicken wrapped in hardwoods smoked bacon
  • Beef ribs
  • Pork sausages
  • Salmon
  • Sword fish
  • Shrimp

The meat is all very high quality, and tastes very good. You can eat an unlimited amount, here’s my first plate:

My first plate at Chima

The restaurant has a very modern theme, which I love. I wish I took more pictures, but to get an idea, I took one of the glass they have in the middle of the room with I believe Cirque Del Sol projected on it. Since it’s frosted glass, it displays on both sides for a very cool effect:

Glass screen at Chima

There are a variety of different restaurants in this area that offer the same style of dining. The ones I can think of are Malibu Grill, Fogo De Chao, and Texas De Brazil. From what I’ve heard Chima and Fogo De Chao are the top notch versions of the restaurants (With Fogo De Chao being the best). Our dinner was about $50 a head, our total bill with 5 people was around $400 as we all got deserts and drinks as well. It was definitely worth the experience, and the food was excellent, especially if you like meat.

Here’s a picture of a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder parked outside of the restaurant to give you an idea of the type of customers that eat here:

Now The Volleyball Championships

Yesterday I had a post that my kickball team had won our championship game.  On Monday my volleyball team was in the championships.  The team we were playing was the only team we had lost against, so this was going to be a good match.  The league is co-ed, so each team requires at least two girls to play.

In the first game we ended up winning by a decent amount, the score was like 15-10 or something along those lines.  The second game we were losing 10-14 at one point (15 is a win) , but ended up coming back and winning 18-16 (win by two).  We almost had to call off the second game because right in the middle the sky just opened up and started pouring.  Luckily it didn’t last very long.  The series is best of 3, so we ended up winning the championship.  So this season of sports I’m 2 for 2 in championship wins!  Here’s a few pics from the match:

You can see me closest to the camera waiting for the ball to come over.  The guy closest to the net is one of my best friends Jason who I’ve mentioned on this blog before as the guy who makes some nice side-cash on Craigslist.

Vollyball championships

Here I am trying to make a save, Alex is there for backup just in case I screw up:

The other team is about to do a nasty spike onto our side:

Vollyball championships

Hopefully next year we’ll by defending our championship.  Now that kickball and volleyball are over, I’ll finally have a little extra much needed free-time.

Kickball Champs!

I play in both a kickball and a volleyball league, and the kickball league just finished. We ended up winning the championship! I haven’t played kickball since I was in middle school, but it’s a blast to play. To find a league near you, there is something called WAKA (World Adult Kickball Association) which organizes kickball leagues all over. You can find more information at Kickball.com.

The championship game was a best of 3 series, and we won the first two games. The first game we won 3-0. The second game went into overtime, and we ended up winning 1-0. The celebration was a bit more than expected with free-flowing champagne, drinking out of the trophy, a big speech, and the ice drop on the coach…I would have never thought all that for a kickball game lol.

Here’s our team with yours truly looking to the left:

Ravens Redskins Game This Past Weekend

I got a call Saturday afternoon that a friend had an extra ticket to the Baltimore Ravens/Washington Redskins pre-season game this past week. I went to college close to Baltimore, so I’m a Ravens fan, but I also live near DC now, so I’m a Redskins fan by the locality rule….This game I had to go to! The game wasn’t until 8:00pm, but after driving around for 45 minutes try to find somebody scalping parking passes, we got there at 5:00 to do some tailgating. Our group of people had a nice mix of Ravens and Redskins fans.

Washington Redskins stadium

I stopped at Modell’s before the game to pick up a Jersey. I went in planning to get a Ravens jersey, but they were all sold out, so I picked up a Skins one instead. By default, I was a Redskins fan for the night lol.

Me tailgating at the Redskins game

Here’s the whole crew ready for some Football!

All of us at the Redskins game

You can see in the background of the above picture that the sky isn’t looking that great, take a look at this. Here’s a picture of the sky on the right side of stadium:

Lighter sky

Now this picture was taken at the same time, but on the left side of the stadium:

Darker sky

Least to say, a pretty wild thunderstorm starting brewing right before kickoff was about to happen. They wouldn’t let anybody in the stands until it passed by, so it was about 30-45 minutes after the scheduled kickoff time that the game actually started. Speaking of kickoff, here it was:

Kickoff

At halftime the score was 7-6 Ravens, but I started to feel really sick. I decided to go back to the car and lay down. After about 10 minutes of that it started thunderstorming big time again, and a few minutes later everybody was back at the car. It turned out that the game got canceled, the final score was 13-7 Redskins.
