Dodge Viper In The Reserved For Hybrids Parking Spot

My company put hybrid only parking spots in our garage for earth day, I decided to park my Viper in one as a joke.

Dodge Viper In The Reserved For Hybrids Parking Spot

For earth day, part of the effort that the company I work for did was to make a bunch of the closest parking spots in the garage reserved for hybrid vehicles. As a joke, I thought it’d be funny to take the extreme opposite car and park it in one of the spots. I only parked it for a couple hours, and within 30 minutes I already got a parking violation. After I moved my car, the spot was open for the rest of the day as I guess there were no other hybrids in the garage…so no harm no foul :)

Part of the irony is that someone can have an even more fuel-efficient and/or environmentally-friendly vehicle than a hybrid and they would not be allowed to park in that spot. What about scooters? Full electrics? Biodiesel?

Good point, they could have said something like environmentally friendly vehicles…but then where does the line get crossed.

We already have a section of the garage towards the front for motorcycles and scooter type vehicles, so they are on the ball with that :)

Someone really should have keyed your car. Assholes like you should just kill themselves, now.

Anonymous people like you that have no sense of humor should get a beating for wanting to key a car :)

If they really wanted to help the environment they should put those hybrid only spots farthest away so the people with fuel inefficient cars don’t have to drive as far.

Actually Jay, that doesn’t make sense, you’d drive less parking in the spots farther away, i.e. where the fuel inefficient cars were delegated. Making the inefficient cars do less is the better route. Mush like when the lazy jerks in an office get no work delegated to them because you know they’ll just screw it up or get it in late, or cloud the office with greenhouse gasses. Conversely, you load the efficient worker with special projects to the point where they collapse from stress and caffeine overdose :)

A diesel golf gets more miles to the gallon anyway

Gotta just love the smug hybrid drivers who fail to acknowledge that the batteries that power their little yuppie carts are actually far more damaging to the environment than the exhaust from your vehicle… You can park next to my ML55 any day of the week.

But is that an “illegal” violation? Though it may violate the morality of the parking space, can it be “cited” as with a fine, by the (city)police?
Some places have “expected mother” parking. Though it may not be moral to park there(while not being pregnant), it’s usually not illegal, and wouldn’t be cited, anyways.

Was this to be funny, or was this just you showing off the fact that you own a viper.

That’s what I was thinking, Davud.

    @Brian - Yup, I just got it about a month ago :)

@baracuda68 - The violation I got was just more of a warning that I didn’t have a hybrid parking permit. It wasn’t a fine or anything, and it wasn’t from the police.

@Davud - It was to be funny. I can show off the fact that I own a Viper in another parking spot ;)

    This is pretty funny.
I also think its funny how you handle your criticism with such a light hearted attitude :)

Explain your thinking; why on Earth would this possibly funny? I don’t see any reason at all why this would be funny.

I just think you’re a fuckin dumb ass.

  19. David Pitlyuk

    04/28/2008 11:00 pm

@Larry - Because it’s a play on the fact that it’s essentially the opposite car of what’s supposed to go in there. It’s funny in a “wow, didn’t expect that” kind of way. Hence the reason thousands of people have viewed this page, you viewed this page, and you posted a comment ;)

As I said, there was other hybrid spots open, and I was only parked for a couple of hours. No harm done.

I’m sorry that people like you are so angry at the world…lighten up.

Dude, that’s great. I honestly hope you park your car there every damn day. You sound like a good guy, but there’s no need at all to justify anything to these bitter pansies posting on here….

That is ironic! LOLs! Its great that somebody with such a small penis can still have such a terrific sense of humor.

@Preston - I’m sorry you feel so jealous. Why does having a nice, rare, fast car mean I have a small penis? Can’t a guy be an automotive enthusiast?

I for one will take the Viper, which is one of my dream cars, and also depreciates less than the Camry or whatever else you drive over the course of a few years.

    No shame in that!

It is a hybrid, burns gas and rubber

HAHAHA! You are amazing! I don’t know how you manage to be so funny! I mean parking a car that consumes a lot of gas in a parking space for cars that consume little gas! Genius! How did you manage to come up with that? Keep up the good work, keep being hilarious!
