Thanks Post Office!

I left one of my Viper keys at my friend Lisa’s place when I went to go pick up the car. She immediately mailed it to me, only to find this in my mailbox:

Stolen key

The way that the envelope is ripped, makes it look like it was on purpose. So now somebody has a key to my Viper, and my address. That’s always reassuring :(

Ouch. Not good. Does the key identify it as a Viper or does it look like a normal Dodge key? Anyway - time to get in touch with Dodge to work on getting all locks replaced. I guess it is too late to recommend using priority mail or certified mail for those type of mailings.

It only has a Dodge logo on it, which is good. The later model Vipers had a snake head key on it though. That’s what car insurance is for :)

Ouch. Yeah, you should definitely get to Dodge about getting re-locked.

Since I hate today, I am not sure whether to tell you how much it sucks to have someone out there potentially having your address and a key to your Viper or how much you suck for the April Fool’s post. ;)

Haha, I wish it was an April Fool’s post!

Ouch, that does suck then. The official USPS sticker had me thinking it was legit but you can never be sure today. I’ve never even thought of re-keying car locks but I would certainly be looking into that.
